May 17 Special Election for President &
Vote on Middleman Tavern Liquor License and Standard Cabaret License
Special Election for SCPNA President
Our current president, Terry Neyland, is moving out of state, and the current the vice president is unable to assume the full responsibilities of president at this time. SCPNA’s officers, therefore, have called a special election to elect a new president to serve the remainder of the 2017 term. The election will take place in-person at the May 17 meeting, and allow for absentee email ballots in the days following the meeting.
Tavern Liquor License & Standard Cabaret License Vote
A prospective commercial neighbor plans to open a new bar called Middleman at 3401 E. Colfax (Colfax & Cook). Some of you are aware that we attempted to hold a vote on Middleman’s Tavern Liquor License and Standard Cabaret license applications in April, but due to the short notice from the city, were unable to complete an effective vote. Because of this lack of notice – the city has rescheduled Middleman’s public hearing for their license applications to May 25 at 9:00 a.m. at the Department of Excise & License, in the Wellington Webb Building at 201 W. Colfax, Dept. 206, Denver, CO 80206.
We will discuss Middleman’s plans at the May 17 meeting, and then conduct a vote of our membership regarding Middleman’s license applications. The vote will correspond with the special election for a new president, with an in-person vote at the May 17 meeting, and absentee balloting via email from May 18 to May 20. Middleman has agreed to the terms of a good neighbor agreement, which will be ratified if the membership votes to support their license applications.
